I just finished our “3rd Annual Cause for Paws” event, to benefit the Humane Society of Weld County, and feel as though I wanted to send a quick note out to all of the people who helped the Cause. By FAR, this was the toughest year for so many reasons, the first being the economy and the price of gas. Secondly, Mother Nature didn’t cooperate with us this year, and we easily had the WORST weather we’ve ever had for this event. From heavy winds, to cold temperatures, to rain, thunder, lightning, sleet, and yes even some snow flurries. Through it all though YOU came through! I worried endlessly that due to the small amount of “throw away” money people have anymore, and along with the weather, I was very concerned that I would have to look at all of the animals and know that I let them down. They brought many beautiful animals out who were all up for adoption. Rufus and Rocket found new homes, but this was easily the lowest amount of adoptions we’ve ever had. The adoptions have always been in the double digits, so I am hoping that you are still considering going by the Humane Society of Weld County and find out which animals are currently homeless and in dire need of some TLC. I instantly fell in love with a 7 month old named Timone, a black lab “mix”, but IF he was a “mix” he was A LOT of black lab. I truly hope that Timone and all of his friends will find loving families to take them home and show them the love they so desperately want and need.

I could post a laundry list of EVERYONE I really need to thank to make this event possible, but no doubt I would forget someone and disappoint them. Therefore I just want to say THANK YOU to ANYONE and EVERYONE who had ANYTHING to do with the success of our “3rd Annual Cause for Paws” for the Humane Society of Weld County.

Carli, Kevin, Shelley, Joe, Kristen, Matt, Dr. Rick, Dr. Erin, Sue, Craig, Laurie, all of the folks who donated in one way or another, the Humane Society of Weld County, all of my co-workers here at Regent Broadcasting and everyone else, understand I love you from top to bottom and hope that I can count on all of you again next year for our “4th Annual Cause for Paws” event.
